PEC Master Gardeners would like to thank everyone who stopped by our booth at Seedy Saturday.  We were delighted with the enthusiasm of all the local gardeners.  See you all next year!

Our annual Plant Sale will be on Saturday, May 23rd from 8 am until 12 pm in the parking lot of Metro 73 Main Street West in Picton.

We will have lots of plants for sale, many grown in our own gardens.  This year we will also be offering advice about what you can do to make a few changes in your own garden to become part of the solution to combat climate change.

Winter is the time gardeners are pouring over their seed catalogues and planning this year’s garden.  In Ontario, we’re lucky to have so many excellent sources for seeds. You’ll be the most successful if you pick the seed companies that are closest to where you live, or in the same growing region as you. However, you can still have success ordering from a company farther away, but you’ll have to be careful not to order a plant that isn’t in your growing zone. If you’re not sure what growing zone you’re in, go here, type in your location and  the Landscape Ontario will find it for you.

Here’s a few seed catalogues to get you started, many of them are happy to send you their seed catalogue for free:
